From the 19th to the 31th of August, Lake Wanaka (New Zealand) received the world's top junior freeskiers and snowborders, competiting for the FIS Snowboard and Freestyle Junior World Championships.
The contest strated with the Slopestyle category, impressive and powerfull, competitors gave the most of them insuring an incredible show. Both finals, men and women, happenned on the Saturday 21 rewarding the most awesome tricks. Competiting against 12 other girls, our brand new rider, Urška Pribošič, reach out the second place becoming the Junior Vice World Champion.
Fresly recruited in the Rip Curl Girls Team, this 20 years old slovenian girl, impressed the judges with her determination and agressive style. She strated the competition with a second place at the qualification and fought until the finals where she kept her 2nd place.
Urška is getting known as one of the most promomising eastern european riders. She proved it this year, by getting some great results : 15th at the 2010 Roxy Jam edition, 1st at the Sista Sessions in Myrhofen (Austria), and 2nd at the 2010 European Volcom Peanut Butter and Rail Jam Finals (Laax, Switzerland).
You surely have to keep an eye on this rookie, she didn't ran out of suprises....!
